> I've started taking taurine to help with my GAD, which is pretty bad. It seems to help. I haven't found any info on doing a google search that warns about "poop-out". It does seem to help me so I want to keep taking it. Does anyone know if one develops a tolerance to it?
> janetYes, I would have to say you do. Unlike drugs, your body is designed to control its natural composition with multiple feedback loops. Taurine availability might be a constitutive problem for you, as an individual, but you will still find that your body will adapt to a regular intake of it. The best way to maintain efficacy is to take regular holidays from intake, or to use it "as needed" rather than on a schedule. You will develop an intuition about what works, and what doesn't, and when to take a break, if you pay good attention to the effects from specific doses.
