I just took Emsam with actual "phenylethylamine" 60mg and had about a thirty-five point rise in systolic blood pressure. My blood pressure runs low, so it wasn't a big deal for me. The studies started out at 10mg and slowly increased to sixty and no significant side effects were noted. Perhaps it should not be started at higher than ten or twenty mg, and people with high blood pressure or heart problems should not consider it.
Either way, it does seem to affect blood pressure while on selegiline.
