In animal studies (forced swim test) antidepressive effect was shown first after 30 days.
In human studies full antidepressive effect was shown after 8-10 weeks. I do not think they cared to ask patients after just one day.
My experience is that alertness is improved from day one. The immediate effect is probably due to EPA inhibits formation of PGE2, an inflammatory prostaglandin.
Longterm supplement will also increase serotonin levels.
