I've tried all of the ingredients individually in this stuff and wasn't impressed, mainly because any calming they might have had (not much) also worsened depression. If you are prone to depression, these might not be good choices.

L-theanine mentioned in another post is supposed to be good. Odd though, when I tried it I got stimulated instead of relaxed. But it was only a one day trial and I don't think I took a high enough dose.

I got a little bit of calming from taurine, though I only took very low doses. Taurine was unique in that it just seemed somehow to make anything else work better. After a few days I was getting more depressed. It could have been a number of other things though. I wasn't sure.

The fastest calming agent I tried was called GabaCalm. It is a sublingual form of gaba that absords under your tongue. Somehow it did seem to work fast. But again, the depression these things cause me...geez.

St Johns Wort causes nervousness in a small minority of people, especially in the beginning. But it usually has good anti-anxiety action. The best brand for that is Remotiv, available only by mailorder from a place called EZiChem in Australia. It has been clincally tested and proven, unlike 99% of the products on the shelf. It is one of the top 2 brands used in scientific studies, but has more anti-anxiety to it that other brands.
