I know L-tryptophan supposedly helps with insomnia but it has a completely opposite effect with me. If I take it in the afternoon I have difficulties falling asleep and I keep waking up during the night. I tried to take it in the morning, but then I get too drowsy to function normally.
Did or does anyone else experience anything like this? Is there anything I can do about it because I DO like the anti-depressive and anti-anxiety effects L-tryptophan provides? I also tried out 5-htp but I don't like because it makes me depressed and agitated.
