Okay so I've been taking Rhodiola rosea for some now, about two months. I take 'New Chapter rhodiolaforce 100' Here in the UK its £11.99 for 30 capsules.
I really like it. It has definately improved my mood and general outlook and given me energy.
Its supposed to enhance your sports performance or something - well I'm still sore after 'high impact aerobics' on Saturday!! But its the mood brightening I'm after anyway.
I haven't got insomnia at all, sleep is never a problem for me.
But, it doesn't do anything for me with regard to anxiety. I don't know if this is because I'm not taking a high enough dose, or if I'm just one of those individuals (its supposed to be anti-anxiety). When I find something good for anxiety (celexa, SJW) it doesn't activate me enough and I end up sleeping/eating/being tired all the time; conversely when I find something that address the depression (prozac, wellbutrin and now rhodiola) it doesn't do anything for the anxiety. Its like a swing. Anyone any ideas why this might be so? I can't imagine that my CNS is so finely balanced between one or the other.
Rhodiola is definately a worthwhile herb.
Kind regards
Meri
