Start at a low dose. Remain stable at that dose for two weeks, at least, if tolerated. Only then try and increase the dose, but only increase it gradually.
If intolerable side effects occur, then simply stopping the SJW will solve the problem. If your dose increases have been gentle enough, then so will your adverse symptoms, if they occur.
You may take as much SJW as you tolerate. Tolerate is a really important word, for which only you can determine the meaning. What you might accept and what I might accept as tolerable, are likely very different things.
