I see what you are saying. Chocolate may not be a clinically effective antidepressant, but that does not disclude the possibility that it cannot affect the mood.
In addition, the anandamide content of chocolate varies widely from study to study.
Some siting that it only exists in trace amounts but others claming it is found in much larger quantities.
Chocolate also contains compounds that inhibit the uptake of anandamide, but I saw no mention.
It's like SJW. You will get studies that since it only slows the reuptake of serotonin by ~50% it cannot be a usefull antidepressant, but it is perhaps the combination of several weaker effects that contribute to the whole effect.
