It's been a long time but I once experimented with color therapy. I must have bought a half dozen different colored sheet sets. I came to the conclusion that the color of the bedding and clothes next to the skin are as important as the colors around us. It's not just about what we "see".
As I remember it, yellow is stimulating. Green to Dark Green is good for depression and Blue to Dark Blue is best for relaxation. I think greens and blues are more sedating and may help with insomnia.
For a more refined perspective, you might want to check out some ayurvedic and chinese sources - they really know the subtle qualities of colors and how they affect the body.
