This site has info about Serotonin Urine levels

Quotes >
"Urine levels seem to be the most representative of what is actually going on in the system."
" Highly depressed moody people are extremely low in serotonin and norepinephrine, but will probably have high urinary levels because they are losing so much at any given point in time."
I have seen high serotonin urine levels and high 5-IAAA (5-Hydroxyindoleacetic Acid) indicated in carcinoid and tumour diagnosis. Intestinal carcinoids excrete large amounts of serotonin. However from what I've read this is accompanied by high serotonin blood levels as well.
High levels of Serotonin in the urine can be caused by a number of factors,
1. Highly Depressed mood
2. SSRI drugs causing the body to excrete Serotonin since levels are high at the synaptic junction and therefore the body thinks the levels are high overall and tries to get rid of as much Serotonin as possible.
3. Carcinoid tumours.
These are just a few 'explanations'. I would discuss it with your Doctor or which ever specialist you saw, as it may or may not be any of the above reasons.
