About two years ago, I used melatonin for about 3 months. I also bought the 3 mg dosage.

I woke up several times gasping for air while taking melatonin. I think now that I probably my first panic attack with melatonin (just didn't know so at the time). I wonder if melatonin affects seratonin somehow (becuase I always wig out if my seratonin is touched).

Anyway, after I had those problems, I did some research and I also read you should never use more than 1 mg of melatonin. It is natural but it is still a powerful hormone. Our body produces much less than even 1 mg. I would say cut 1 mg in half or even in quarters.

It helped me sleep but it made me feel strange the next day. I haven't taken it since.
