I don't agree with your theory. Unless I am misunderstanding something, wouldn't having the Nardil metabolize MORE MAO-A in the gut leave less of it to enter systemic circulation so it can reach the brain, which is where the MAO-A inhibition responsible for the psychotropic effect is located?
However, it is possible that something may be happening to it in the STOMACH that results in less getting into systemic circulation, and thus enterically coated caps help. Although what data do you have to show that it's possible to seal them with saliva?
Also, I tried taking 10mg of bioperine today 15-30 minutes before I took each dose of Nardil, and I think it worked markedly better. That could just be the cabergoline kicking in, though, so I'd need someone else to test it. 10mg bioperine tabs can be had at the Vitamin Shoppe, among many other stores, or online. If someone else could try this, I'd appreciate it. Perhaps I may have found an even easier way that enterically coated capsules to get more phenelzine absorbed (Bioperine is piperine, which increases the absorption of some vitamins, minerals, and drugs, sometimes many times over).
There is also the possibility that one or none of these methods have any effect and are simply "good placebos" ;). We really need others to try them.
