In reply to does b6 make anyone else irritable ??, posted by linkadge on March 29, 2005, at 15:02:07
Hi Linkage. I find that taking B6 with magnesium helps me sleep, but I only take the Magnesium at night. I read that it's not good to take too much B6 because of some problems with neuropathy (I think) at high doses. Since I am ingesting B6 in other ways throughout the day (i.e., via a multi-vitamin, nutritional yeast, foods, etc), when I do take B6 at night, I take only a smidgeon of it. The lowest strength tablet I could find is 50mg, so I take a little chip of it with the Magnesium. By the way, usually I add the B6 to the Magnesium only during the latter half of the second half of my menstrual cycle. So, I take Magnesium every night, and only towards the end of my cycle do I add the chip or flake of B6. Both the magnesium and B6 relax me and help to alleviate irritability. Is it possible you are taking too much?
