> I don't want to um hog the board, but I've been meaning to ask about chocolate. Since I was a little girl I've had INTENSE cravings for chocolate, like the death by chocolate dark chocolate super delux cake, pretty much daily, and since I like dark chocolate better than the other kinds, I don't think the sugar factors in as much. As I've read more about chocolate's effects on the brain/mood, I've come to the conclusion that it was/is my body's drug of choice for depression/anxiety. So, I wanted to ask the very knowledgeable people here if that indicates any kind of deficiency to them, or raises a flag somehow (like, "you need more..." type of thing)or what might work for me. I also thought I'd ask if anyone knows if you can supplement chocolate? Like seperately take all the active things in it (there-by avoiding the calories) or some kind of concentrate? It might be a silly question, and I apologize if it seems like a waste of time post, but if I could find a way to do it, I think it could possibly be a huge help. Thanks very much.
> MMCocoa powder is as close to a concentrate as you can get. I've never heard of chocolate extracts, like you find with so many other herbs, to concentrate the active ingredients. Dark chocolate gives you more chocolate bang-for-the-buck, as it can contain up to 15-fold the cocoa powder concentration when compared to milk chocolates. The added calories in milk chocolate can be problematic.
