wonder whether this has anything to do with SAMe and anxiety?
SAMe turns into homocysteine after donating it's methyl group - It needs another methyl group donated from B12 and folate, to reactivate it to SAMe again - without sufficient B12 and folate, homocysteine levels increase. Homocysteine is an excitotoxin like glutamate, and will oppose GABA.SAMe with sufficient folate and B12 to activate it, is essential for brain energy (creatine activation) and helps switch off the NMDA glutamate receptor. Some people claim that SAMe supplements degrade quickly, so some of the supplement might actually be homocysteine! Has anyone heard any of this claim, or had any perosonal experience?
