I have a balanced (sometimes a bit sparse) diet and drink plenty of water. I am desperate to lose weight but am just not getting it right.

than your diet already provides. Any additional sources you have will, in part, counteract the benefit of the omega-3.You should be consuming good quantities of B-vitamins. They're almost impossible to overdose on, but they are the "Energizer bunnies" for your enzymes.
For simple energizing, you might benefit from trimethylglycine (TMG), also known as anhydrous betaine, or betaine freebase.
I don't know anything about Buchu. Lecithin can make some people feel sluggish.
