I think that there are obvious holes in the information that's out there in book form now. Most of the books don't go into enough detail or they make the discussions too narrow (they don't discuss how supplements interact much). I have checked out almost all of the books about supplements for the brain and I can definitely say that they are all wanting in one way or another. I have yet to see one that included info on whether various supplements can be taken with antidepressants. Perhaps they would be too large if they went into all of the detail I wanted and included all of the supplements I'm interested in though.
Whether it sold well would also depend on the marketing of it and how much emphasis your publisher would be putting on it. You could have the best book on the market but if the word doesn't get out to the public... You'd really need to get good PR even if you had to come up with very original ways to do that yourself.
Also, you can do quite well if you can get most of the libraries to buy it. I don't know how that works exactly. Probably political as well - at first anyway - then public demand (if it exists) could force the issue.
