> > Thanks so much for sharing your input and experience. I was sort of hoping that I was wrong on the hunch that it's the meds causing the problems, but it's nice to know that I'm not the only one. I'll go through the day and find new, big bruises all over. I've been telling myself I'll start going to the gym, but I'm embarrassed to wear shorts because I don't want to explain the bruises. So Vitamin C helps? And what is "Vita Lipotropic"? Thanks so much for your help. ~CB

OWWwww, i completely relate.
_Raw fruits & veggies_ that are high in Vit.C are what finally fixed it for me. I've been taking the suppliment in many forms and many doses for years, but had not the effect that the actual foods had (even as little as an orange a day, or a red bell pepper, ->after i'd reached my needed max intake per day and de-bruised). Must have something to do with the way the whole is assimilated, bioflavinoids, etc. etc.
But if you prefer to go with pills and powders and are *more than* reasonably wealthy, try many high dose Pycnogenol pills (pine bark extract) 2x - 3x daily. This helped my bruises too. i don't use it anymore, so i can't quote you from memory, there. Just check it out online :)
The only Vit.C suppliment that i've ever found that helps anywhere near the same as the real fruits: "Emer'gen-C" powder packets http://www.alacercorp.com/ in larger doses (5-7g that's 5-7,000mgs) x2 or more times a day, because Vit.C is not stored in your system, exactly. You will urinate out any more than your system can handle at the moment. And you have to build up your body's ability to use/handle large doses of Vit.C, or else you will have diarrhea.
"Emer'gen-C" is very good because of all the extra Vit.s and minerals balanced into it anyway(IMHO), so i still drink at least one packet (1000mg Vit.C) in a glass of water a day.

"Vita Lipotropic" is the name of a suppliment combination made by Eclectic Institute http://www.eclecticherb.com/ that i was directed to take by the ND, PhD. for my liver.
There is a previous thread about it here:

Keep us posted, let me know how it goes for you~ or anymore Q's...
Glad to help,
