In reply to how much green tea before it lowers my serotonin?, posted by psychlover on January 5, 2004, at 0:52:27
I really don't know, but one thing I'd like to add is that the caffeine in green tea releases serotonin through adenosine antagonism in different parts of the brain. Overall, maybe this balances out? One must also take into account that caffeine stimulates stress hormone release, which indirectly will lower serotonin over the long run. As for the L-theanine, and your original question, I don't have any idea.
