I'm just wondering if anyone has looked into the sugar connection regarding depression.
My 27 year old daughter bought a book a few years ago & went on a carbohydrate-restricted diet - no sugar; no fruits; very limited carbos initially. Then she gradually added more carb foods back into her diet.
She found it helped her depressions big-time. She doesn't eat sugar, honey, dextrose - no concentrated sugars. She dilutes fruit juices & uses STEVIA to sweeten things.
She will sometimes make the decision to have a treat, knowing that the next day she'll pay for it.
People will sometimes say to her "Oh - it's just got a little sugar in it." or "Just have a little bit - it won't bother you." And she'll reply - "Okay - but I want you to be around tomorrow to be here when i experience the results."
I was just wondering if anyone has any input about this.
