Red tea probably has cathartic properties ;-)

I think herbal teas on the whole, whilst useful as an adjunct to other things are generally a little weak to be classed as a first line therapy. Of course they have a double whammy effect because whilst you are drinking these, you are not drinking caffeine packed drinks or soft drinks full of additives.
