The dentist I went to today reckons he won't use calcium hydroxide as it stops the bonding material (Optibond Solo) from working as well. He doesn't wrap the nerves either..which my old dentist used to very effectively.
He reckons that is old-time practise...
which it probably is as I'd had a dentist in a different city that does that very effectively since I was 6.
I figure he's near retirement, but he's a great dentist for stopping the pain...only he still uses mostly amalgam in back teeth, and won't touch back teeth roots any more.
