Wow, I never knew there are supplements for mental disorders.
So, substances like, 5-HTP, L-Tyrosine, and so on, are available in vitamin/supplement stores, just like Vitamin C's are?
I live in BC, Canada, and the best drug store I know is Londondrugs. They had the largest number of supplements among stores I know.
Could someone reading this do me a favor? Please give me a list of supplements that I could try to relieve OCD/social anxiety. I have no knowledge of them.
Also, if I want to buy, for example, 5-HTP, do bottles in drug stores say "5-HTP" or it's called somewhat different? I went to drug store, and tried to find words like L-Tryptophan, 5-HTP, etc., but could not find those. I found Omega 3-6-9 tho. So, I purchased it. It says Omega 3-6-9, and the producing company seems like "webber naturals". I started to take it from today.
Drugs from my pdoc I have tried are Paxil and Celexa. I had horrible experiences with them. Probably side effects or increased dosages too quickly. So, basically, I did not get any benefit from them.
Currently, I'm taking Clonazepam(Klonopin), .25mg in the morning and .25mg at bedtime. It helps, but I am not functional. My ocd and anxiety are quite severe that it is currently disabling my social life. I'm going to go see my pdoc next monday. I'm supposed to take MAOI, but I cannot take them because of dietary. So, I'm planning to make MAOI for my very last choice.
Also, I read that even among SSRI's, there are a little different kinds. I guess Paxil and Celexa are similar kind. So, what are the ones that belong to other kind than Paxil and Celexa?
I guess I'm asking 2 many questions. I'll stop here...lol
