It is certainly less consuming of emotional energy. Also, I feel safe enough to be able to allow others to viciously deride me without feeling a need to protect my dignity or reputation. I don't feel that it is imperative to exact retribution. My sense of safety is afforded, in large part, by the recent increase in the moderation of the webwsite.
I have no guarantees to give, of course. Sadly, I will probably feel the need to jump on the merry-go-round from time to time. In the meantime, I repudiate the personal attacks made upon me. They are of nothing.
