1. The FB button makes it easier for a visitor who likes a post here to share it on FB. Which increases the visibility of Babble.
2. What people on FB see is that the visitor's FB identity shared a post by the poster's Babble identity. They don't see the poster's FB identity. The poster might not even be on FB.
3. The visitor could be seen as promoting my site, but could also be seen as promoting what the poster wrote, or promoting this community that we're all part of.
And Twitter is analogous to FB.
