Friends,
The question here could be about what constitutes [antisemitism}. Now for someone to be antisemitic, that is a different subject than if a statement has the potential to {arouse antisemitic feelings}.
To determine that, there are generally accepted definitions of what constitutes antisemitism and then one can examine a statement to see if it qualifies as such and then there is the potential for that statement, if it qualifies, to arouse antisemitic feelings.
One generally accepted criteria to establish if a statement is antisemitic is if the statement can arouse {hostility} toward a Jew or Jewery. Those type of statements usually blame Jews or a Jew for something that a group then uses to harm a Jew or Jews. The harm can be emotional or physical harm.
Another generally accepted criteria used to determine if a statement is antisemitic is to see if the statement is defamatory to a Jew or Jewery. This usually is when a statement purports in some way that a Jew or Jewery could be {inferior} or discrmiination is in the statement.
Another generally accepted criteria used to determine if a statement is antisemitic is called {theological} antisemitism. This is sometimes called [anti-Judaism}. This type of statement defames by (redacted by respondent).
Another criteria is when a statement could lead others to think that the statement is {stereotyping} Jews. This can occur when Jews are given certain characteristics and then could also be known as {racial} antisemitism.
Another generally accepted criteria for determining antisemitism is if a statement is in the catagory of what is known as {holocaust denial}.
Another form of antisemitism is when a statement causes to lead others that a Jew or Jewery could bring disaster to the community.
Another form of antisemitism is when Jews are judged by a different standard in a community than others or have a higher standard to abide by.
Then there are straight-out derogatory and/or dehuminizing imagery depicted in a statement toward a Jew or Jewery.
These are not all of the criteria used to determine if a statement could have the potential to arouse antisemitic feelings. Mr. Hsiung agrees at least to determine if a statement is antisemitic here as posted, is that the statement could lead a Jew to feel put down.
Now if someone posts a statement that could lead a Jew to feel put down, to determine if the person that posted it is antisemitic is done by a different test than to determine if the statement that was posted could lead a Jew to feel put down.I will need more posts here to explain how that test makes that determination. But in the mean time, if anyone would like to post here your perspective as to what your test could be to make a determination as to if a person is antisemitic or not, I would like for you to email me before you do that.
Lou
