I think I've noticed that Dr. Bob has traditionally shown more leeway with regard to mental health professionals. Probably because he recognizes that on a mental health support board, statements about mental health professionals might be more of a reflection of a poster's pain and frustration than statements about a group of people.

I must say that I felt the same way about comments about therapists in general. I suppose at heart I still do, since I see my therapist as someone who can be hurt, and I feel the need to defend the people I care about.

But then something Muffled said made me see things more from Dr. Bob's point of view. She'd consistently respond to the pain behind the words rather than the words themselves. And sometimes, not always but sometimes, that would start a dialog and I would understand why the poster felt that way. And in the best of cases, the poster might limit his or her statements a bit. I still address those posts, because I think most therapists try to do the right thing and I have a really hard time keeping my mouth shut. I try to use Muffled as my role model when I do.

Dr. Bob also probably has the perspective of a psychiatrist in viewing those posts, and doesn't feel hurt by them himself so assumes psychiatrists don't. But I think this could change, if he is convinced that it's right to change. He used to show considerably more leeway towards comments made to Administration until something someone wrote on board convinced him it wasn't in the best interests of the board in general.
