In reply to I don't like posts unawnsered..., posted by rjlockhart04-08 on July 8, 2009, at 23:55:03
One possible outlook is that your frustration comes from not knowing if your posts were answered. People might read them, and formulate an answer in their mind, but not post the answer. They might even answer in general terms somewhere else. Who's to say what is the actual the impact of your correspondence here?
Some forums include view-counters that tell posters how many times their messages have been opened, and ostensibly viewed and read. That can be just as frustrating, if a post score a low count.
I've tended to open rjlock posts more than others. And remember them, too. You posted something about the titanic sinking and titans in response to something I wrote in the past couple days, I recall. It was sort of like poetry. Polite clapping would be an appropriate response at a poetry reading, but here, well, it's like a book - I just don't get around to e-mailing the author.
I could offer tips on generating responses, but please, fear me. I know dangerous technologies you might prefer not to handle once you learn how they can kick or cause blow-back.
