If you could set the main page for each board to automatically refresh every few minutes it would be useful.
Otherwise you never know if someone has just posted something until you manually refresh. There's pros & cons to this. The cons are that you need to decide on an update frequency. The more often, the more "realtime" your experience is. The downside is that if someone leaves their browser open all day it could chew through a lot of their ISP download quota. So you'd have to make sure it was a clever refresh that only updated changed threads. The dumb way would be to refresh the entire page and if there's any graphics involved, the MBs really add up ;)
