type "about:plugins" (w/o quotes)in the URL bar. The sound file Dr Bob uses is a midi file, so you should see:

audio/mid MIDI mid,midi,smf,kar Yes
audio/x-midi MIDI mid,midi,smf,kar Yes
audio/midi MIDI mid,midi,smf,kar Yes

in one of the sections.
