Dr. Hsiung,
You wrote,[...one lenghly post instead?...]
I do not think that I could do that. The post in question has many questions in it and other posts associated with it so that my response would be a response to many questions of differant posts.
But I think that it could be good for the community as a whole if I was allowed to post my response , regardless of how many posts that it could take.
The response from me would cover;
A. What does it mean to be chosen by God?
B. Who are the chosen ?
C. How does someone be chosen by God?
D. What are those that are chosen , chosen for?
E. Who are the called by God?
F. What does it mean to be called by God?
G. Can anyone be called by God?
H. What historical references are there to the Jews being "The Chosen People"?
K. What are the Jews chosen for by God?
L. Are non-Jews chosen?
M. Is being chosen by God better for the person chosen or is there a higher standard imposed by God to the chosen?
N. Could someone refuse God's chosenness to them? What could happen to them if they chose to be not chosen?
P. If someone wanted to be chosen by God, could God refuse to allow them to be chosen?
R. Who proclaimed that the Jews are "The Chosen People"?
S. Is evryone chosen?
T. My response to :[...Do you not find this self proclaimation exclusionary?...How different is this than a Christian stating that one must go through Jesus Christ to arrive at The Kingdom of God everlastingly?...]could, in and of itself, take a long, separate response from me.
V. How has historical antisemitism been fostered in relation to the use of the phrase "The Chosen People" to arrouse ill-will and hatred toward the Jews?
X. Other related issues that come out of the post that are related to the questions directed to me here.
