<<<<<< The media is trying to force their opinion onto the rest of the population?
There is still some "mainstream" media. But there are more and more one-sided (radio, television and internet) outlets than ever before. For the most part those outlets call themselves "conservative," but they aren't conservative in the way I would define conservatism.
Do they try to force opinion? I believe they do. Only one "side" is represented, anyone with a dissenting opinion is cut off of ridiculed, "liberals" are mocked. FoxNews even calls itself "the Republican station" while at the same time it calls itself "fair and balanced."
Around election time one owner of multiple TV stations played what it called a documentary about Kerry - all negative - and said it didn't have to give him equal time because it *was* a documentary.
And it's working. I can't even have a reasonable conversation about policy with my own brother as his only sources of news are Fox and Rush { quote - the other stations are biased - unquote }
It scares the bejaggers out of me. He who conrols information controls the world.
