In this dialogue, I meant to focus on the apparent or implied contradiction between the two sequential statements (from original, in quotation marks). Was your PBC because I employed the second person in my phrasing?

I could have said, "Those two statements appear to be contradictory. The first assumes all allegations are true, while the second one seems to only partially absolve 'farmers'."

Would that have been acceptable?
