I'm uncomfortable with any rule that keeps track of the number of posts in reply to another's post. I think it stifles the art of communication. Kind of like trying to cram in all the conversation that 50 cents on a payphone will allow. You spend more time thinking about how much time is left, and not enough on what you're trying to say.
