Dr. Hsiung,
I am asking you to make a determination maimly about posters writing statement like,"This will be my one and only post to you."
The statement sounds to me so final. It is the "and only" part that concerns me. How could something be final? Could not the poster that wrote the statement have a change in heart in the future? Could not the poster themselves feel that they have to request clarification, even for more than one part of a statement,in the future and thearfore find theirself in my shoes? And could not there be a change in the administration where the forum could encourage requests for clarification? after all, it has been written that jumping to a conclusion is to be avoided here.
It has been said, [...you don't convert a man by silencing him...]. If I am to be silenced by some sort of quota for requesting clarification, what would be the gain for the forum? Are not different points of view encouraged hear? Well, my point of view is that one can ask for clarification and enrichen a discussion by adding to it the reply from the poster that the clarification is requested from , and that the poster that requests the clarification now has more to respond accordingly to.
