PC, this used to be a real problem here. There used to be no rule about announcing name changes. Now there is, thanks to Dr. Bob listening to our concerns. And Dr. Bob *does* look for it. So while it still undoubtedly happens, and Dr. Bob may not catch all of it even now, it's much better than it was. The reason there's no rule that says you have to disclose who you once were is that there might be very legitimate safety issues that prompt a name change.
Unfortunately, it's part of the riskier side of the internet, along with not knowing that anyone really is who they say they are, other than Dr. Bob of course.
I figure you just have to take the bitter with the better and figure that sometimes someone you think you don't know knows you, or that sometimes someone isn't who or what they claim.
It *does* feel a bit funny sometimes though, doesn't it?
