The support page doesn't actually say how to give direct donations. There's no mailing address to send a check to. Should a check be made out to "Psycho-Babble"? Maybe a Pay Pal link on the support page would help. (Do they cost money to set up?)
I was surprised that *no* donations have been made in almost 2 years! That low response rate may feel discouraging as far as asking more prominently for donations. But in a way, Dr Bob, maybe you could give us a better chance?
Can the donations link be on every page (not just the board home pages) right next to the FAQ link? And then some easy way on the support page -- PO address & Pay Pal button -- to make donations. This may also give you more practice with direct payments before/if you transition to a registration fee.
I know the fee issue isn't just about money but also civility. But if users can readily see that other users are giving cash and investing more than keystrokes in this community... well, everyone might feel more responsibility to be civil. Maybe.

I don't think you will, even with a bit more gift emphasis. 21 months of zero donations shows that Babblers can resist you! :-)
