Substitute the word can't with won't. Can't shows an 'inability to resist' hurting others. In this case you failed to do so. You 'won't' let an opportunity to belittle someone pass you by.
You have the ability to resist, you choose not to.
You know Jesus hung with the sinners and thieves, etc. I'm sure many were bad spellers. He loved them because they were flawed. Only a person who has knowledge of 'their own' shortcomings can rise above them. The only way to rise above these things is through acceptance of others mistakes and always realizing that no one is perfect.
Make a decision to listen to the ignorant and the educated, filter out how they say things things and listen for content. The lines can become blurred between the two.
