Oddipus, I admire and respect you as much as I can admire and respect anyone.
When I was in middle school, and became the targeted picked on kid, I hated my tormentors with all the passion my young heart could muster.
But I hated those who found virtue in staying out of it, those who saw what was happening and said nothing, nearly as much. I had always, *always* stuck up for those being picked on for the entire six years of my social existence. And when it came time that I needed defending there was no one there. Some kids quietly let me sit with them, invited me to their parties, accepted me as a friend, and I am grateful to those kids. But not one single solitary &*%$*! soul said one word when those bullies descended on me. And I hated them for it.
Now you, Oddipus dear, would have said something. And you do say something. And I love you for it.
