Because registering under another name while you're blocked is akin to a payroll violation. It is a deliberate flouting the administrative decision. To do otherwise than respond would make the blocking process laughable.

And I'd give them to you privately in an email, but attempting to speak kindly in an email was a large part of what caused that particular mess, and I prefer not to do so again. It would be a great kindness to me if you would quit reciting this particular incident over and over, since I found it a rather hurtful thing given the entire context of my relationship with the poster in question. You don't have to of course, I just wanted to let you know that the frequent references to the matter were causing me pain.

I'd like to speak outside of any particular incident (forgive me..I don't mean to intrude) and to the fact that many on here are not happy with the blocking policy. I also would hope this policy is not "moot", as well as discussion on it. It is quite overwhelming actually. Some people are structural-functionalists, and love hard-set rules and regulations. To me, not questioning authority is just as dangerous as trying to constantly create anarchy. The "two strikes you are blocked a week; three two weeks; and then always doubled" seems like a cold and calculated policy to me. I and many others don't see everything in such simple black and white terms. (That is not an accusation or meant to be, but just an acknowledgement others tend to see more grey area on the matter.)
I have read past posts by Lost Boy, and there is little doubt some or many could be offended. What I think would be a true gift of this website, and add to it as a "rehabilitative" place on the web, is if somebody took time to seriously discuss what he feels is his concerns. In likelihood, I doubt many have done that in his life.(As with many other posters who might often post in anger.)
I have proposed some alternative treatments to blocking, and I'd love to hear yours and others. I "absolutely" do not want to see any harm come to this board, or see it shut down in any way. That is not my desire or part of my reasoning for bringing up ideas, period.
I would hope Dr. Bob would seriously consider our thoughts. I think then the therapeutic value of this board would rise considerably.
Thanks for listening. John (the "V" one:-)
