I appreciate your post. Thanks for writing.
I guess my point is that I don't read Lou Pilder's posts at all. He makes my brain hurt, and I have trouble with teachers (even former teachers) who can't spell! So I just think that if you don't like all the arguing going on here, stick to Social. It's a board full of mangoes and gooey things, as well as a few people who really need support in life.
With regard to the argument being already decided, I think it's rekindled with each new incident. And people can try, eloquently or angrily, to change things. It doesn't bother me one bit. And those bothered by it can either ignore the discussion here, or join the debate, as you have done (and eloquently so).
I know that you are different, and I respect that. I also know that when people are arguing or debating or discussing, it's not out of disrespect for those who don't like it. No one should expect the folks involved here to say, "Oh, we need to stop because mashogr8 doesn't like it."
Likewise, we shouldn't set out to do something that hurts you or other posters. I just don't see how this falls into that category. It's nothing personal. We can't just stop everything that everyone finds disagreeable, or there'd be no board. No one could post unless each sentence was grammatical, as I don't like bad grammar or misspellings. No one could disagree. No one could talk about religion.
As I have argued regarding Lou in the past: If certain posters or post topics make you uncomfortable, don't read them. Go make merry on the other boards. But this is what the administration board is all about (preposition).
