I thought it was questionable, and believe it or not, I try not to intrude any more than necessary, so I let it go, and I thought it went OK.
I didn't think it was sarcastic, which implies "an intentional inflicting of pain":

I agree that it wasn't supportive, but I didn't think it was clearly unsupportive, either.
