Personally, I would still think a *page* (rather than a new board or set of tips) would be much more accessible for people using the site. They could just read it, rather than jumping in and out of links (which might also not make a lot of sense out of context).
Again, personally I would want it to include the kind of content I mentioned before at http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/admin/20020627/msgs/5863.html (eg background, links to papers as well as milestones/memorials)
I do realise that the big disadvantage would be the time required to put it together. It would also need a bit of updating(tho this could be kept minimal). And I'm not sure if posters permission would need to be asked before quoting from their posts.
I think it would actually be a good idea for such a page to be short, and direct people to the Board archives it they want to find out more.
*if* it would help, I could put together an example of the kind of thing I mean. But respect Dr Bob's decision, whatever.
