swearing from a lingual and historical view...

wendy- your post was SO funny, I SWEAR I'm going to read it a hundred times.

what about swear phrases in a "foreign" language, i.e Spanish:

"Isinusumpa kita! - (I curse you!) - nearest translation is go to hell!"

or

"bilat inana - just a generic swear word, no insult toward no one"

seems like that would be o.k.

We "SWEAR allegiance to the flag", yet Christ told us NOT to SWEAR, "Swear not at all". (Matt. 5:34).
