I would consider myself a part of 'others' and here is my reaction:

There do seem to be variations of skin thickness that PBCs and gentle urgings to be nice do not address. I would gladly respect a symbol designating the nuttier nuthatches. (sorry, couldn't resist) Might seem silly now but a peek in the archives shows that these board splitting and civility issues are not going away.
