i didn't really mind taking the quiz because i've been visiting this site for many months and appreciate it dearly...

however, if i were a new poster, i don't know if i'd bother with the quiz in able to "join." when i was doing web-searches for these kinds of sites, my depression was peaking and cognition nil. a quiz likely would have turned me away--a shame, because this is the most informative, friendly website i've found re: mental illness.

just wanted to add here: Dr. Bob, i appreciate your vigilance, patience, and effort with this site. if, however, on this page you are looking for honest feedback--i'd just reckon to say that new posters might not um, exactly cotton to the idea of taking a quiz to post.

perhaps you could just have buttons that say "i agree" (hence, letting one post) or "i disagree" (preventing one from posting until they agree)?

i understand your protectiveness, i just don't know if the degree of it is quite necessary...of course, i'm no doc and i've never run a website. you are taking on so much responsibility.

if the quiz could be eliminated, though--i think that would be best.

respectfully,
sar
