Dr. Bob ditch the political correctness

Posted by NLFAmerica on September 15, 2001, at 10:27:27

Ive followed this board on and off for years. Ive observed Dr. Bob's heavy handed moderating. Much of it seems politically correctness based. Today the final blow, Dr. Bob tells SalArmy4Me he cant advertise his Salvation Army thing. I gotta tell you, when a person on a DEPRESSION SUPPORT message board who is personally involved with the Salvation Army cant even lobby their cause, something is wrong.

The Salvation Army helps a lot of homeless persons, many of whom are homeless due to the fact they have SEVERE mental illness such as paranoid schizophrenia. And conventional psychiatry is unable to help them many times. So its up to organisations like the good old Salvation Army to try to keep some of these homeless, mentally ill individuals alive and afloat.
Dr. Bob needs to loosen up his uptight, anal retentive ways. Or just shut down this site entirely. We have a thing in America called freedom of speech. Some take it very seriously. I know I do. Dr. Bob stifles freedom of speech.

Sal shouldnt be restricted from advertising his involvement in the Salvation Army. I for one think its a very honorable and upstanding (outstanding) thing he does with the Salvation Army. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Salvation Army, nor with Sal's little offhand slogans referring to it. I would think that it would give depressives the genuine impression that someone genuinely cares.

Dr. Bob...LOOSEN UP!!
