Dr. John Grohol

Posted by Diane J. on June 28, 2001, at 23:05:22

Dear Dr. Bob,

Maybe this is something inappropriate for this forum, but I'm not really certain. I have read some comments in the past and recently on John Grohol's Psych Central concerning research you conducted using responses from the Psychobabble Board. He said you did this without informed consent. A few days ago I read in his weblog and he said that you had called into question his lack of professionalism, and he was sort of indignant about it. Even though I am aware that a research project involving people must be approved by a board such as Health and Human Services, I really have no knowledge of your particular case other than what John Grohol reports. I did indeed think it was unprofessional for him to discuss this on his site (I told him that) because what is the purpose other than embarrassing you? So what is this? Professional jealousy? I don't get it. Do you care to comment?

Sincerely,

Diane J.
