I was going to spend the $28 US ($50 CDN + tax) to buy the article online, but if they won't release one article to the site that the article s written about, I doubt that this is a journal that I will subscribe to, or follow, regularily. Besides, who is going to use or read this article on this site unless: a) they saw it first in the journal and thus obviously have access to a subscription or, b) frequent this site (and we really do have to admit that not everyone online reads this site; contrary to what we think). I guess that I will check the two major university medical libraries in Alberta to see if they carry it and photocopy it for under $1 CDN.
I would say that I would give $25 US toward the posting of this article on PB, but unless they bring the price down, I don't think that we should have to pay that much for information about us.
Isn't there some way of posting this article that would make it difficult to print off and only allow it to be read at this site (eg make the background a lovely shade of burgundy - Napa Valley, 1988? - with dog-pee-in-snow yellow writing). The propeller-heads out there (Greg?) should have some ideas about this.
Don't cave on giving the money, yet Dr.B. We should have many lurking lawyers here who can help us get around copyright laws.
