CBD rich weed is likely better for your brain than alcohol. CBD tends to raise brain antioxidants and reduce inflammation. Alcohol does the opposite.
In lower doses, THC may also be beneficial for the brain. Some studies are actually trialing low doses of THC to PREVENT Alzheimer's. The theory is that by activating the cb2 receptors, you are decreasing brain inflammation and may help to clear some of the plaques.
High doses of THC (in the absence of CBD) may have some deleterious effects on the brain. For me, 2-5mg of THC (with accompanying CBD) seems to improve mood, anxiety and not leave me feeling worse the next day. Higher doses can leave me more strung out.
Of course, individual tolerance is a factor. As well, what psych meds you are taking can be a factor too.
To be honest, I recommend actual weed over gummies, as the terpines in whole weed can have very beneficial effects on mood and anxiety. I cook my own weed from a 2:1 CBD:THC strain with lots of terpines. It's great. My moods are much stabler than before I started using it 4 years ago.
